flower animation 2009

This animation is from my Computer Imaging class, 2009. Each frame was created in Illustrator and captured with a screen shot. Then the frames were imported into iMovie. The music was created in GarageBand, with help from my fiance, Michael Arbit.

screenprinting 2008

Screenprinting project, Graphic Design class, 2009. The assignment was to create two posters taking a stance on a controversial topic, using parody and pastiche for the designs. My controversial stance was that credit cards lead to debt.

The first image is a photo of the final posters, displayed at a Macy's store. The middle three images are the separations for the dollar bill pastiche poster. The final image is the complete composition for the Disneyland parody poster, which we then separated into the blue and red screens. Final screen prints were 18"x24".

watercolor 2009 cont. some more

Examples of watercolors from 2009, all part of my senior honors thesis series where I look at flowers as a metaphor for female sexuality, and what messages I can convey using this metaphor.

watercolor 2009 cont.

Examples of watercolors from 2009. The first image was the first painting of a series I created for my senior honors thesis depicting flowers as metaphors for female sexuality. The other four images are other floral watercolors not related to my senior honors thesis. The middle two images inflict patterning on rose petals, while the last two images were created using the texture of bubble wrap.

mixed media, 2008

Examples of mixed media projects completed in 2008. The first image is a shaped watercolor and acrylic painting of a Santa Claus figuring inside of a iridescent high heel shoe knick knack. Actual ribbon is attached. The shaped canvas is adhered to shaped foam board, which was then lined with the same ribbon around the edges.

The second and third images are one small book from a larger book I did inspired by the song Viva la Vida by Coldplay in 2008. The third image is the cover; the second image is the inside spread. The fourth image shows all of the pages and smaller books, as well as the red binder the pages sat in, made from book board and paper. Each page was made with a combination of scrapbook paper collage and watercolor.

The last image is a hand-drawn and painted collage of brand names, based on a series of dreams. Media includes marker, colored pencil, crayon, acrylic paint, and ink washes. 2008.
